Call for Applications – “Fresh Summit International Convention and Exposition” Study Tour

CNFA’s Agribusiness Development Project (ADP) funded by USAID is organizing a study tour to one of the biggest fresh fruit and vegetable trade shows in the world – the Produce Marketing Association (PMA) Fresh Summit International Convention and Exposition in Atlanta, GA. Annually 500-600 world renowned fresh fruit and vegetable companies attend the event. CNFA will select 7 Moldovan companies, which, in addition to attending the exhibition, will also have the opportunity to attend various seminars dedicated to international fresh fruit and vegetable trade, consumer preferences, transportation, production standards, distribution and international market requirements for packing.

The goal of the study tour is to inform the participants about new trends on the international market regarding trade, packaging, transportation, distribution and export of fresh fruits and vegetables.

Eligible candidates will observe the following criteria:
  • Active involved in production/processing/export of fresh fruits and vegetables;
  • At least 3 years of experience in the field;
  • Proven interest in implementing new business practices in marketing fresh fruits and vegetables;
  • Previous participation in CNFA training and technical assistance programs.
The four-day study tour will take place in November 2005. CNFA will also organize several visits to local companies and will cover participants’ transportation and meal costs. Interested companies must fill out an application form, also available at CNFA’s office (33/1 Bulgara Street, between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm). The deadline for applications is September 5, 2005.
